Cody McPherson Charges to Win and DIRTcar Sportsman Series Point Lead at Brighton Speedway

BRIGHTON, ONTARIO – September 22, 2012 – Sibling rivalry hit the track last night at Brighton Speedway as brothers Cody and Tyler McPherson battled to the end of the 35-lap DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series feature.

Cody McPherson jumped to the lead at the start of the race, having escaped a pile-up off the green flag. He soon faced challenges from his brother Tyler McPherson, who eventually passed for the lead.

However, with three laps to go, a flat tire in the front stretch took Tyler McPherson to the pits, and Cody powered ahead and kept first through the green-white-checkered finish. Cody’s win puts him at the top of the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series point standings.

Rounding out the top five are Martin Pelletier, series feature winner at Cornwall Motor Speedway Chris Herbison, Gary Lindberg, and Justin Sharp.
