Super DIRTcar Series, DIRTcar 358-Modified Series and DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series to invade Mohawk International Raceway
AKWESASNE, N.Y. – Monday, September 8, 2014 – Racers across the Northeast are gearing up for another big weekend. On Friday, Sept. 12, and Saturday, Sept. 13, three premier DIRTcar Racing series will invade Mohawk International Raceway for an action packed weekend.
The annual Mohawk Nationals Weekend kicks off Friday night with a 75-lap, $4,000-to-win feature race for the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series. The following day, the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Series will take over, along with the ninth round of the DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series.
Matt Sheppard, of Waterloo, N.Y., currently tops the Super DIRTcar Big Block Modified Series point standings, with Billy Decker, of Sidney, N.Y., down by 18 and Brett Hearn, of Sussex, N.J., by 37. After Autodrome Granby’s 150-lapper Friday, Sept. 5, defending series champion Erick Rudolph, of Ransomville, N.Y., leads in DIRTcar 358-Modified Series points. Brad Rouse is first in DIRTcar Sportsman Modified Series points, followed by Mathieu Desjardins in second and Shane Pecore in third.
Gates open at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at Mohawk International Raceway for the first night of racing and at 1 p.m. Saturday.
